Hoppin’ Easter activities this weekend

Grab the kids and don’t forget the baskets, because Whidbey Island will be hoppin’ with holiday fun this weekend! Here’s a list of Easter weekend activities in which you might be interested:

Farm Cuddles 2022
April 16 and 23
10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Cost: $15 for 30-minute session
North Whidbey Farm
231 E Frostad Rd., Oak Harbor
Children and adults will enjoy this opportunity to get a little snuggle time in with baby goats. Children under 2 are free with paid adult. Price includes a bar of goat milk soap. Clothing suitable for a farm is recommended, preferably clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Be aware goats will nibble on loose clothing or hair and are likely to jump on you. Handwashing stations will be provided.

Easter Egg Hunt
Saturday

Homeplace Memory Care
171 SW 6th  Ave., Oak Harbor
This annual Easter egg hunt features refreshments and snacks for the whole family. There will be lots of candy and special prize eggs. A special area of the courtyard will be set aside for children under 3. Plus, the Easter Bunny will be there to visit with kids. Call 360-279-2555 for information.

Clinton Easter Egg Hunt

Dan Porter Park
7490 Deer Lake Rd., Clinton
Dan Porter Park will open at 10:30 a.m. and organizers suggest folks arrive no later than 10:45 a.m. to enjoy this Easter egg hunt once again. The Easter Bunny will make a special appearance and members of the fire department will also be on hand with a fire truck. There will be prize eggs and other special treats as well. Don’t forget to bring a basket! Open to children 12 and younger and their families. Participants will be divided into five different age groups. Parking is available at the Clinton Park and Ride, 4801 Deer Lake Rd.

Egg Hunts at Meerkerk

Meerkerk Gardens

3531 Meerkerk Lane, Greenbank
Meerkerk Gardens is offering its first Easter Egg hunt! There are two hunts from which to choose. Children 10 and under may participate free with a paid $5 admission by an adult. Children up to age 5 will hunt at the events area near the gazebo, while children age 6 to 10 will search for their eggs in the Secret Garden. Participants and their families will meet the Meerkerk Bunny and see the gardens during peak bloom. Dogs are welcome, too – as long as they are on a leash. Visit meerkerkgardens.org for information.

The Oak Harbor Main Street Association is pleased to bring back its annual Easter Egg Hunt. Organizers suggest arriving early to scope out the hunting space. A sensory friendly/physically accessible hunt will begin at 11:30 a.m. A hunt for kids ages 10 and under will begin at 12:30 p.m. Find lucky coins and win prizes! Learn about Garry Oak trees and enjoy other activities and free books. Bring baskets and bags in which to collect the eggs.

Children 11 and under are welcome to hunt for Easter eggs at noon Saturday. Organizers suggest arriving by 11:30 a.m. There will be prizes and hot dogs for the kids and the local 4H group will have some small animals there to show off as well. Bring your basket!

VFW Easter Egg Hunt

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary invites children ages 1 to 11 to take part in its Easter egg hunt. There will be an Easter Bunny, prizes and fun. Organizers suggest arriving early to find your hunting spot. The hunt begins promptly at 1 p.m. Bring a basket or bag.


Professional Spring Photos with Farm Babies

Ballydidean Farm Sanctuary
3460 French Road, Clinton
Get professional photos with four farm babies! There are three baby lambs and one baby goat itching to get some attention and have it professionally photographed. Get more details or make a reservation by emailing sanctuary@ballydidean.farm. Proceeds benefit the farm sanctuary.


Easter Brunch and Egg Hunt

Join Whidbey Presbyterian Church for its Easter service at 10 a.m., followed by an Easter egg hunt at 11:30 a.m. Participation in the service is not necessary to join the egg hunt. Come as you are. Hunters will be divided into three age groups.
