Victoria “Vic” V. Valdez

June 21, 1978 — May 3, 2020

Our beloved Vic passed away May 3, 2020 at Skagit Valley Hospital at the age of 41, after she lost her battle with liver failure. She was born in Colorado and moved here about four years ago, in 2016. She worked as a cook at Arby’s during her time here. She is survived by her partner, Tyna Isgrigg, her son, Matthew, and her nephew, Tyler.

Vic was a loving person who was always there for a friend. She would listen to you for hours and knew when you were not telling her everything. She had a deep passion for fishing and football. She could go on for hours and hours about either. She loved to spend hour after hour out at her favorite fishing spot or talk your ear off about football teams. She loved her college football team, the Wisconsin Badgers. She loved her Badgers but also loved her Raiders, Cowboys and Seahawks, also thanks to Russell Wilson being a Badger.

She was a wonderful father figure to our son, who she loved with all her heart. She pushed him and taught him to excel in all his sports activities, especially football. To her, he was the next JJ Watt.

She was really easy to love and is going to be greatly missed. Now, however, she is with the people she loved the most, her mom, brother, and father. I know they received her with open arms and many tears for the hardships she had to live through. She was a fighter all the way to the end and even in her passing she gave our son one last lesson: “Do Not Drink! Son, it will get you! It might not be the way you expect, but it will catch up to you.”

Please, no flowers at this time, however contributions in Vic’s name can be made toward her final expenses by contacting Elizabeth at Whidbey Memorial Funeral Home.
